Making freeze dried fruit hot news

Tri River Foods was founded in 2006. They own 5,000 acres of farmland in the Qingdao region of China and are global market leaders in the freeze drying of fruit and vegetables; everything from apples and strawberries to cabbage and onions. Already successfully distributing to wholesalers and supermarkets around the world, they were looking to launch their “Premium Farm” brand of healthy fruit crisps to the UK and European consumer.

Recognising their knowledge of marketing to UK consumers was limited, they came to Point 6 for advice on branding and packaging for this important launch.

Our brief was to create branding and packaging that connected with their target markets of adults with children and adults wanting a healthy snack option for themselves. We also had to ensure the purity of the products (there are no additives at all) was clearly communicated.

The existing packaging had not resonated with buyers so Point 6 started from scratch. We used simple, fun illustrations and typography to communicate the pure nature of the products. We created a real personality for the brand by bringing the fruit to life to communicate directly with consumers.

As well as designing the packs, we also produced Shelf Ready Packaging to provide Tri River with a convincing retail display story to take to the market.
