Bringing software benefits to life Interact software animations
How do you translate complex technology into an easy-to-understand format?
Signify’s connected lighting brand Interact needed to highlight the benefits of its IoT software in a clear and concise way. With six categories covering different industries such as retail and offices, they decided that animation was the way to go.
Having been involved in the conception of the Interact brand, Point 6 was the clear choice to tackle this project. We used our detailed knowledge to create a series of animated videos, using dynamic visuals and voiceovers to bring the software benefits to life.
Video is one of the most engaging types of content, helping marketing teams grab the attention of prospective customers while giving them the relevant information. So, the animations needed to be both eye-catching and explanatory — not an easy task for such a complex product.
What’s more, they needed to look perfectly at home among other marcom materials. We needed to ensure that everything was consistent and conformed to brand guidelines, meaning it was essential that the animations matched up.

We used our extensive knowledge of Interact’s visual language as a base, developing vibrant storyboards for each software solution.
Our team wrote voiceover scripts that not only highlighted the benefits, but also told a story. Picking out the key points and expressing them succinctly, they formed the narrative of each animation. Rather than focus on what the software does, we pinpointed how it could make clients’ lives easier — and of course, save them money. All in a friendly, conversational tone.
Once we had approval, we used our animation skills to bring each scene to life, turning the static storyboard into an active animation.
Using a continuous line style, we created graphics from scratch that illustrated each animation’s narrative. Scenes feature dashboards and luminaires, but also star a central worker to help relate it all back to the target audience. We also incorporated the brand palette into every scene, using colour to draw attention.
For the final step, we listened to around 35 different samples in order to find the perfect voice artist. Eventually, we picked one that we felt both matched the brand identity and complemented the visual style.
The end result not only looks and sounds great, but ties all of our hard work together by framing the benefits in a clear and informative way.
